Description
Mitchell Collins is a troubled, shy boy. He has been told at an early age that he was chosen by God Himself, to become a priest. He is shunned by most of the children in his Catholic school class because of his shyness and because of his mother’s antics while in church. Her loud voice while confessing her sins, as well as her crying during Mass were an embarrassment to both Mitchell and his sister.
His mother, Bridget Collins, focuses solely on her children’s religious careers and nothing more. She is the laughingstock of their small perish.
Mitchell and his sister Kit rebel and try to take charge of their own lives. Along the way they find out new things about their father and mother that were well hidden from them.
Indecision and pessimism regarding the Catholic church follow Mitchell throughout his confusing life.
