Gang Member is the true story of a man who had studied Martial Arts for over ten years before finding himself incarcerated in Detroit Michigan. He fled to Los Angeles in an attempt to escape what he considered an illegal imprisonment and found himself homeless and sleeping in the park. His Martial Arts training became useful when he rescued a man whom he had met from an attack by a local gang. The rescue also placed him at odds with the gang. After several unsuccessful attempts by the gang to teach him a lesson they became impressed with his fighting skills and decided to induct him into the gang. Joining the gang was his rescue from homelessness but also an introduction into a world that he thought existed only in the movies. The story describes how his Martial Arts training provided protection from gang violence, drug addiction and a life of crime.
